Start a Chapter

How to start an IYCN chapter in a new place / organisation ?

The following steps will lead you on this exciting new journey:

  • Each state is managed by one National Coordinator of IYCN. Please refer the list below for guidance.  Contact the respective coordinator.  If you are not able to find the suitable person, do not hesitate to write to any of them.
  • Get a team together of interested friends and colleagues and hold a discussion on issues of your area
  • Organise a few IYCN activities or campaigns to establish presence.   Check the different IYCN campaigns for ready reference.  Feature your activities on IYCN website, blog, online media partners, TV and print media
  • Increase your base in the area by signing-up more members. Get IYCN membership ID cards.
  • Connect with other IYCN members in the network and if required, invite existing IYCN Coordinator of nearest city to participate.
  • Represent IYCN in meetings with companies/ organisations for fund raising or partnership and use IYCN administrative support for quick results
  • Once enough people have been reached out to, open up the applications process to recruit Coordinators for various positions and hold inductions for them
  • All Chapter Coordinators get IYCN Coordinator ID cards, along with IYCN posters, brochures, pamphlets, merchandise and opportunity for a free office in your area.
  • With a full fledged team along with a members and volunteers, you can then start running full fledged campaigns and also take part in the different projects of IYCN.
