Jaipur
Jaipur, the city that once had been the capital of the royalty, now is the major business centre for the natives of Rajasthan. The walled city of Jaipur, painted in pink, grasps the appreciation of every visitor. The active streets of Jaipur get plenty of visitors. These causes have put a lot of pressure on the city's infrastructure and environment.
Jaipur is facing a lot of problems like any other fast growing city of India, but what is at stake is its heritage of traditional water management systems, the hills and picturesque beauty. The scorching heat is increasing but trees are decreasing. The thirst is high but land is dry. The forts are few but malls are many. Hills are all around but few birds can be found.
On the occasion of Earth Day on April 22nd, Indian Youth Climate Network, a national youth NGO, along with 2 Jaipur based NGOs namely, Raksha and Courser, is organising a Green Cycle Rally in the city of Hawa Mahal to make residents of Jaipur aware that their future is in their own hands and only they can bring back the old charm of Jaipur. The rally is also aimed to demand action from the Jaipur authorities and state government to support the residents of Jaipur.
The rally will start from Govind Dev ji ka Mandir at 9 am and will complete at Central Park at 11 am. For more details and participation, please contact Rohit @ 09828114341 or Kamal @ 09799750115
