IYCN invites applications for the following Chapter positions in all cities from June 2010 to March 2011. Apply to become IYCN Coordinator in your city. Positions descriptions as follows. Find the form at the end of the of this page.
Chapter Coordinators : Want to start a new chapter in your city/region and run a campaign on Biodiversity, Waste Management, Water Conservation or Workshops and Eco audits in Schools/Colleges/Companies ? Become a chapter coordinator and coordinate between different programs, represent IYCN at different places and inspire more people to work for the cause.
Program Coordinators : We have a bunch of interesting programs both at national and regional level. Program include the Great Power Race, Biodiversity Conservation, Tree Plantations, Water Conservation, Waste Management, Youth Summits, et al. The position includes running a campaign or program doing out reach, contributing the knowledge center in addition to doing grassroots work.
Fundraising & Accounts Coordinators : The person will identify fundraising opportunities for the chapter and raise funds through donors, fund raisers, partnerships, merchandise and membership drives. The accounts & expenses of the chapter will also need to be taken care of.
Workshops Facilitators : If you are at ease presenting and organsing workshops in various schools, colleges and corporations using IYCN modules such as on Water, Waste, Energy and Forests & Biodiversity, become a Workshop Facilitator. The position will also require follow-up with the participants.
Media Relations Coordinators : The person will be responsible for managing IYCN relationships with media in the chapter on an ongoing basis as well as document stories and links to IYCN’s media mention.
Knowledge Centre Coordinators : The person will compile information on local environment issues, locally active organizations and their actions on environment issues of the region. He/she will also coordinate with campaign/ program teams of the region for information required for their works.
Art Coordinators (Film, Theatre, Photography & Music) : Those with experience/ education/ interest in the creative media such as films, theatre, photography & music are encouraged to apply to use art for environment in various ways. The person will also require to organise festivals and exhibitions for this expression.
Network Consolidation - 2 month internship - ONLY DELHI/NCR : The person will contact various coordinators in India, clarify their queries and collect information within time lines. He/She will also coordinate with the technology team to upload data for quick access.
Waste Management Awareness Campaign - 2 month internship - Gurgaon : This person will be responsible for designing training module for residents (homemakers & maids) on waste issues, waste segregation and solutions and also provide training to the residents. The position is based in Gurgaon.
Profile for all the above listed positions
1. High levels of commitment to the cause and organisation
2. Time required – up to 20 hours per week
3. Coordinate the various activites across the chapter as the role demands
4. Documentation, review meetings and feedback sessions
5. Represent IYCN in public forums and meetings
6. All positions include a probation period of 3 months. Letter of experience will be issued at the completion of tenure.
