The CMS VATAVARAN film festival & the ENVIRONMENT forum 2010 will be organized in Hyderabad from August 4th to August 13th. The objective of the festival is to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the natural world and its conservation through films and environment forums. The event helps to bring to the fore diverse environmental issues and provide a global platform to discuss our contemporary environmental challenges through film screening, seminars, workshops, symposiums, eco-trips, environmental games, exhibitions and competitions.
The Indian youth climate network (IYCN) is a major youth outreach partner associated with CMS in Hyderbad and has reached out to over 300 youth from different colleges in the city to participate in the event. Our outreach focus was on campuses that are typically ignored for such events and the aim was to bring environmental awareness across different student groups in the city. IYCN has benefited through its partnership with ‘Street Readers’, a youth organization that is working on issues of education, career and youth entertainment in the city.
IYCN will also be doing a half day workshop titled ‘Demystifying climate change’ on the final day of the program and facilitators from IYCN will be engaging the young audience throughout the event. The entire agenda can be found here. http://www.iycn.in/sites/iycn.in/files/hyderabad programme schedule 12 pages.pdf
