SAYSoCC '10
The second South Asian youth summit on climate change is scheduled from October 27th-30th in the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The summit is focusing on adaptation and capacity building across South Asian countries and the youth networks in each country. 35 young people will be hosted at the serene Subodhi institute near Colombo where discussions, reflections and sharing of experiences will create a road map for sustaining a potent South Asian youth network on climate. The Sri Lankan youth climate action network is the main organizer in Colombo and with a host of young people gearing up for the arrival of different delegations from every South Asian country. The conference can be followed through blogs, images and videos from saysocc10.wordpress.com and we wish to have everybody's comments and suggestions before, during and after the conference on how to enhance the South Asian youth climate movement.
South Asian Youth Summit on Climate Change '10-Applications open
The 2nd South Asian Youth Summit on Climate Change will be organized Colombo, Sri Lanka. The South Asian Youth Summit on Climate Change (SAYSoCC) is a platform that aims to bring together young people from across South Asia in contributing all that they can to the collective global effort to redress the climate crisis and environmental degradation. SAYSoCC is a joint-project of the South Asian Youth Climate Movement (SAYCM), which is a consortium of youth-driven organizations in South Asia that work to address climate change and other environmental issues in the region. Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka are the eight nations that will be working on this endeavor.
